JOB OPPORTUNITY : UNITY DEVELOPER

Much of the work at Beaudry Interactive is project-based. We conceive, design and develop unique location-based experiences for theme parks and attractions, cultural and art centers, and educational institutions. We also collaborate with other companies while providing our technical expertise and know-how. Our creative and technical projects can be of varying scale, complexity and media sensitivity, often with overlapping deadlines and running in parallel, with many projects requiring tight coordination with our clients, collaborators and freelancers.

UNITY DEVELOPER - CONTRACT HIRE  

 

Beaudry Interactive (aka b/i) is an award-winning design company based in North Hollywood, known for producing unique location-based experiences for theme parks and attractions, cultural centers, and educational institutions.  We are a small team that values the creative input of every member. We also collaborate with other companies while providing our technical expertise and know-how.  

 

We are looking for talented and passionate game developers, with previous experience creating interactive experiences and games with Unity. Along with having a good sense of game design principles, experience working with in-person and/or immersive technology is a huge plus.  As part of our team, you will work closely with the Lead Developer to create one-of-a-kind experiences.  

START DATE: The contract will run March – July 2023, with potential to extend to the end of 2023.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to design solutions by participating in internal brainstorming sessions 

  • Develop production-ready features in Unity 

  • Work directly with artists to implement art assets 

  • Facilitate playtests and QA testing 

  • Produce clear documentation of completed work and maintenance requirements. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 4+ years of professional experience in a relevant industry 

  • 3+ years professional experience working with the Unity game engine, utilizing the following: 

  • C# scripting  

  • Implementing canvas UI 

  • TextMesh Pro components and scripting 

  • Implementing 2D and 3D art assets 

  • Writing shaders or building Shader Graphs 

  • Network libraries, UDP, TCP, RESTful APIs 

  • Experience using version control, especially Git 

  • Available digital portfolio showcasing samples of your programming abilities 

  • Comfort with travel for installation of project works (1-2 weeks, depending on project) 

BONUS EXPERIENCES 

  • Professional experience in the themed entertainment, museum, or location-based entertainment industry 

  • Experience with computer vision and machine learning hardware and APIs, especially Kinect and ZED 

  • Experience with hardware sensors and Arduino 

  • Experience with Cycling74’s Max/MSP/Jitter programming environment 

  

QUALITIES

  • Passion for games and location-based experiences 

  • Understanding of game mechanics across a variety of genres and platforms 

  • Ability to collaborate closely with a small, multidisciplinary development groups 

  

SPECIFIC WORK CONDITIONS

This is an on-site position. You will be required to work most of your hours at the b/i studio in North Hollywood.
