The Technical Director (TD) is responsible for specification, procurement, configuration, QA testing, management, on-site installation, and support of all audio-visual systems, computer networking, show control systems, and PC hardware for Beaudry Interactive's projects.  The TD also supports the development and production teams during all phases of a project's lifecycle, from early brainstorming and concept design, to final on-site installation. The TD is the primary point of contact for the client during post-installation support. 


The successful candidate will have a strong technical/operational background in themed entertainment and a passion for creating extraordinary interactive A/V works. This is a full-time, salaried position. Work will be conducted at Beaudry Interactive’s HQ in North Hollywood or at client site. Must be willing to travel. 



  • Diploma in Technical Theater, Engineering, A/V, IT or similar 

  • 2-4 years of experience in themed entertainment, or visual arts and multimedia environment (video, lighting, sound) 

  • Proficient in core A/V disciplines 

    • A/V system design 

      • Wide-ranging knowledge of A/V hardware and experience selecting appropriate solutions 

      • Familiarity with a broad range of commercial audio amplifiers, loudspeakers, microphones and audio processing techniques 

      • Familiarity with a broad range of display technologies, such as FHD, 4K, touch-screen displays, projectors, projection mapping, etc. 

      • Understanding of low-impedance and 70V audio systems 

    • Video transport technologies, including signal types and limitations 

      • Full understanding of HDMI, DVI, HDBaseT, fiber and ethernet media extenders and their uses 

  • Proficient in core IT support disciplines 

    • System building and troubleshooting 

    • Creating system images 

    • Local and cloud backups of critical data 

    • Shell scripting (esp. Windows PowerShell) 

    • Operating System setup (Mac and Windows, Linux a plus) 

      • Scheduling tasks 

      • Editing registries and group policies 

  • Proficient in computer networking 

    • Routers and switches 

    • Ethernet and Wi-Fi setup and configuration 

    • Network troubleshooting 

      • Packet analysis, Wi-Fi signal strength and interference testing, etc. 

  • Ability and willingness to perform manual work 

    • Running and dressing cable 

    • Building racks, installing equipment in racks and set pieces 

  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation and user guides 



  • A+, Network+, Cisco, or Avixa CTS certifications 

  • Familiarity with dedicated media servers (Stumpfl, 7th Sense, etc.) 

  • Experience with lighting programing and DMX 

  • Skill with Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketchup, AutoCAD 

  • Experience with video playback systems (Resolume, QLab, Watchout) 

  • Formal studies in interactive media, installation art/theatre 

  • Electrical/mechanical engineering, woodworking, or machining background 



  • Primary work location at Beaudry Interactive in North Hollywood 

  • Travel in USA or abroad as required by project
